Hours passed. I tried not to think about the tiny prisoner in the coffee can cell. The cats, starting to get hungry, pestered me for food. Again, I emptied the mouse onto the kitchen floor. All four cats again seemed miledly curious, but not motivated.
'Maybe catnip would make them interested,' I thought. I dusted the furry little captive in the sweet feline drug.
The heathens were more interested in the 'nip that hit the floor than the 'nip on the mouse! After the cats started rolling on the mouse, completely ignoring it, I replaced it to it's cell. Maybe one more try. Later.
